Healthy food for Travelers

Eating well when you are on the road is tricky. Airports food is not the healthiest and they don’t offer many alternatives either. Bringing along some healthy snacks of your own is a good idea and it saves money also. Snacks for the airplane might include fruit, granola, trail mixes are good and crackers that are whole grain. Wraps are good also and can go un-refriderated for awhile. Keeping hydrated while flying is important too, so drink plenty of water and avoid sodas and alcohol. If you are on a road trip and don’t want to keep pulling over the the roadside diner for a burger or grabbing surgery snacks and greasy chips, there are alternatives for this also. Coolers are made for the car and can hold lots of good, healthy foods. Fruits, yogurt, granola and healthy sandwiches along with water can be stored in them. Many restaurants offer options like salads or you can take the burger but not add the cheese or condiments. But you are still on vacation so it is OK to indulge now and then as long as you have those healthy and wise choices the rest of the time.
